Приєднався 19 лип 2012
Hi all, I'm Robert Staples, an organist in the Washington DC area, who enjoys all forms of organ performance, from classics to popular music. I specifically enjoy working with Hauptwerk Virtual Pipe Organ Software, and hope to evangelize the possibilities of this new software to wider audiences. My equipment consists of a 3-manual keyboard stack and pedalboard from Classic MIDI Works, purchased used from a local musician, a pair of Classic Midi Works Swell Pedals, and a hand-built PC running an Intel I7-4790k with 32 GB of RAM.

March on a Theme of Handel - A Guilmant, op. 15
Definitely a bucket-list piece of mine to learn. With the federal shutdown in January, I set about to use some of that time to learn this.
After a modest and unassuming opening statement of the theme in the opening 2 minutes, this piece breaks into an exciting fugue, followed up by a long and exciting build from piano until finally reaching a triumphant conclusion of the original theme in bombastic and fortissimo fashion!
This was recorded on the E. M. Skinner Hauptwerk sample set. I personally think this organ performs French organ literature admirably, and I've used it for that regularly. Though I certainly would love to try this (especially that ending!) on something like a Cavaille-Coll! One day, perhaps! :)
Once again, the score is from IMSLP. Thanks to everyone for the support in making these little videos for UA-cam.

Переглядів 1,8 тис.4 роки тому
It's been a while, but I've finally found time to put together a video for my performance of "Minas Tirith" from "The Lord of the Rings" film series. This is the first time moving the organ, as well as my first time editing my own video. so it was definitely more challenging. Recorded using the Sonus Paradisi Great Romantic Composite sample set. I didn't use special sheet music, I played from t...
Eugene Gigout - Toccata in B minor (Sheet Music)
Переглядів 3,3 тис.5 років тому
Here I present my rendition of one of the organ's most popular pieces, Eugene Gigout's Toccata in b minor. Despite utilizing rather simple figurations and melodies, this piece manages to build and maintain an exciting personality from start to fiery finish! This was recorded on the Freisach Sample Set by Piotr Grabowski, utilizing Hauptwerk 4 on a custom Classic MIDI console and custom ultra-sm...
Star Trek - The Next Generation - Organ Cover

This has long been one of my favorite shows, and I've always believed that the opening theme would translate well to the organ. Here's the result! Please let me know how it translated in the comments! Also, I've got two more pieces in the works for everyone: the LOTR transcription in the spring, and another great Disney transcription shortly thereafter! However, any suggestions are always welco...
The Stars and Stripes Forever - Hauptwerk Virtual Pipe Organ
Переглядів 6 тис.5 років тому
Happy Independence Day! A while ago, I decided to learn this piece as a means of practicing thumbing a melody in the left hand, a widely-used theater organ technique (used in the left hand during the flute solo). However, I think it makes a fitting post for Independence Day, so here you are! Keep any eye out for the next video, I've got an exciting transcription in the works of music from one o...
Give My Regards to Broadway - Hauptwerk Virtual Theater Organ

As a long time theater organ and silent film lover, I've recently begun studying this style with a local theater organist. This is the first piece I selected to learn. This fantastic arrangement was arranged by R. J. Eddington, an absolutely incredible theater organist with millions of views, whose channel is: ua-cam.com/channels/zA2KreujXuPjVpPaNNfeWg.html Please, go check him out, you won't r...

After a long hiatus, I'm back, and for my second video, I performed the famous Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen on my Hauptwerk Virtual Pipe Organ using Augustine's Great Romantic Composite sample set. This piece was a joy to perform, and I hope that you enjoy it as well. Please leave comments or thoughts below, I enjoy interacting with everyone! And of course, check out my previous video and any oth...
This is Halloween - Pipe Organ
Переглядів 223 тис.7 років тому
My transcription of "This is Halloween" by Danny Elfman, from the 1993 Tim Burton Film "The Nightmare Before Christmas". Recorded using Hauptwerk Virtual Organ Software. If I get decent feedback and reception on this video, I am thinking of doing this regularly, making a small channel out of it. So feedback is greatly appreciated! UPDATE 6/13/18: Sheet music is temporarily unavailable due to we...

This is really cool! The whole atmosphere of the entire video is awesome, the pipe organ is such a powerful instrument. Did you enjoy making this cover?
Hey there, Robert! Don’t know if you still check comments, but I thought I’d give it a try! Do you still have the sheet music for this somewhere? I was hoping to have it so I may give it to my organist for my upcoming wedding.
I haven't maintained the website, but I can send it to you, email me at rstaples93 (at) gmail dot com
That was fantastic - do you sell a copies of this arrangement?

Me: There's gotta be something that makes this song scarier! Like, Haunted Mansions, Creepy Caverns, the Undead dancing in a moldy cemetery... Also Me: hears amazingly freaky song on pipe organ! THAT'S IT!!! Perfect-o! You've made my night a Haunted Fright! 🦇🦉🕷🎃 Keep on playing those tunes! 🎹🎼🙏
A Masterpiece
Everytime I hear this organ intro, It's like a trance to the 1960s to Vanilla Fudge You Keep Me Hanging On organ intro.

Still gives me goosebumps and tears of joy 😃😄💜
Great job, you made it sound like it was written for organ. I love it!
Hi Robert. Where did you get this portable music stand and table From?
The portable stand is called the "Quik-Lok Z Stand", you can find their website online. I don't recall the exact model, but it looks like their Z-71 is very close, if not identical. The actual black surface is something I made myself, so it's not available online. It's just some plywood on top and a basic wooden frame underneath to keep it rigid. I was able to build it to the exact size of the stand and work the braces around the stand top, so it's just what I needed. The metal clasps are for the latches on a lid that I made so I can box up the manuals and move them easily if needed.
Best part at 2:46
SUPER!! SUPER!! SUPER!! SUPER!! SUPER!! Thank you
Can you share the sheet music you used? I’d love to play this for my congregation for a postlude!
I simply read from the official piano version that's available anywhere you might buy music. It translates very easily, so no formal transcription was needed. Thanks for stopping by!
@@rstaples93 thank you! I’ll share a video soon playing on my 1912 walker organ in the cathedral
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Woow this is Good is it ok if I use this for my Halloween special (with credit of course) im making a Jake figure for Halloween and I think it would bee cool to use some nightmare before Christmas songs for the video and this is really good
Very nice. Electronic instruments can sound really nice with the proper acoustics and pickups. The snarl of the reeds combined with the brass is magnificently done. Very nice balance and voicing. Wish I could give more than one thumbs up. (Or is it thumb up?). Subscribed...
I know it's an older comment, but I want to add part of what helps with Hauptwerk is that the people who record the organs record a longer interval for each note on each stop than those who work for Allen or Rodgers, so you have more of the nuance and harmonics of the pipe in action.
This gave me memories
Good time to lisent this 1 month before october
0:41. No comment.
Sadly its a electric organ
It would be hard to move a pipe organ there… and reverb would be zero 😉
Yay- June 7th, 2021- Who's ready for next Halloween 🎃 👻 😂, hopefully Pandemic free fingers crossed 🤞
THIS IS SO GOOD AAAAAAAAAA
If this music will not be played on my grave, I'll stay as a ghost or zombie till they will do that >:)
